Well, I was right about one thing; I definately feel different today. Unfortunately it's different 'bad' not different 'good'. I'm in a filthy mood after a huge row with someone who I thought was a mate, but turned out to have a really quite nasty side. I'm usually quite a good judge of character, but I do have a tendency to be too open and trusting towards people, and occasionally that backfires. Last night it back-nuked!! (I just made that word up by the way, but I kinda like it.) I won't go into details, but suffice to say that there were a few diners who didn't get the nice, quiet meal out that they were hoping for, and there's one less number in my phone-book.
On the plus side..... Nope, can't see one today, sorry. There's not even anything funny at the movies tonight to cheer me up; Buffalo Soldiers and American Wedding both start tomorrow.
On the 'Slightly more important than my paltry problems' side of things, the Hutton inquiry is in full swing, and the sh*t's really starting to hit the fan. The media are salivating over every new revelation (despite the fact that so far nothing has really come out that we didn't already know before), and this scandal really is shaping up into something that could bring Blair down, if not the entire government. Now there's a happy thought! It's just a shame that it's not within the remit of the report to make a judgement on whether the Iraqi WMD dossier used to justify the war was 'sexed up' or not, although if it comes out on the side of the BBC the inference would be there clearly enough. Should that happen, I'd like to see another 'Million person march', this time not for peace, but straight to the gates of Downing Street to remove the nasty little man from his throne.
That'd be me on MI5's watch list then!
After their stunning (if shorter than usual) gig last night, today I've been listening to The Goose's demos. Cracking band, if you were into early Talking heads / B52's / Ian Dury / Madness and like your riffs too then you could do alot worse than tracking a copy down.
